This is an account of a (maternal-line) mitochondrial
DNA test that was first done by the firm, Relative Genetics,
and then extended to more markers by the website Genetree,
with the aim of shedding light on some of the ancestry of Miller, Maxwell,
Nithsdale & Forsyth Descendants in New Zealand.
Peter Douglas Zohrab (that's me!) and his relevant relatives are members
of the female-line (mitochondrial DNA) haplogroup T -- subgroup T2,
specifically. By "relevant relatives" is meant principally
his brother and mother, but probably also her mother, Edith Miller (nee
Forsyth), and her mother, Jean Forsyth (nee Sanderson) -- and anyone
descended from them -- and so on back into the past. There is no guarantee
as to when a relevant genetic mutation or back-mutation may or may not
have occurred, which is why I am being cagy about this.
